It’s My Sixth Year Blogoversary!

It’s My Sixth Year Blogoversary!

I have lost pretty much all concept of time but I did remember that today is my sixth blogoversary! I honestly can’t believe it. Over the past few years, my blogging has dwindled a lot whether that’s due to working or mental health issues. I still always manage to come back though which I like. This will be a very short post because I’m not sure what to say. I created YA Indulgences back in 2014 and so much has changed since then. Reading tastes, favorite authors, homes, family, friends, health, etc. It has been an adventure and I am glad that I still have this little blog to use whenever I want. Here’s to many more blogging years.

Blog Tour: Excerpt of Mayhem by Estelle Laure

Blog Tour: Excerpt of Mayhem by Estelle Laure

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be kicking off the blog tour for Mayhem today with an excerpt. Mayhem releases on July 14th! Here is some info about the book. From Goodreads: A YA feminist mash up inspired by The Lost Boys and The Craft. It’s 1987 and unfortunately it’s not all Madonna and cherry lip balm. Mayhem Brayburn has always known there was something off about her and her mother, Roxy. Maybe it has to do with Roxy’s constant physical pain, or maybe with Mayhem’s own irresistible pull to water. Either way, she knows they aren’t like everyone else. But when May’s stepfather finally goes too far, Roxy and Mayhem flee to Santa Maria, California, the coastal beach town that holds the answers to all of Mayhem’s questions about who her mother is, her estranged family, and the mysteries of her own self. There she meets the kids […]

Interview with Kathryn Ormsbee

Interview with Kathryn Ormsbee

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely day. Today, I am sharing with you this fantastic interview I had with Kathryn Ormsbee as part of The Sullivan Sisters blog tour! First, here is some information about the book: Goodreads Summary Time changes things. That painful fact of life couldn’t be truer for the Sullivan sisters. Once, they used to be close, sharing secrets inside homemade blanket castles. Now, life in the Sullivan house means closed doors and secrets left untold. Fourteen-year-old Murphy, an aspiring magician, is shocked by the death of Siegfried, her pet turtle. Seventeen-year-old Claire is bound for better things than her Oregonian hometown—until she receives a crushing rejection from her dream college. And eighteen-year-old Eileen is nursing a growing addiction in the wake of life-altering news. Then, days before Christmas, a letter arrives, informing the sisters of a dead uncle and an inheritance they […]

Blog Tour: Interview With Gae Polisner

Blog Tour: Interview With Gae Polisner

Hi everyone. I hope we’re all staying safe and healthy during this time. I’m breaking my blogging hiatus with a lovely blog tour interview with Gae Polisner. You can read about the book below and it will be published tomorrow! 1. What struggles did you have when writing Jack Kerouac Is Dead To Me? What struggles didn’t I have?!  Okay, that may have been overly dramatic. But really, I started the manuscript for JACK a long, long time ago. Some early BETA readers and my agent saw its potential, but, for me, besides some pretty writing and some sensual scenes, I didn’t really get what the point of the story was. Not until I snuck a copy of the manuscript to my awesome editor, Vicki Lame, and said, “tell me whether this has potential, or whether I should put it to bed once and for all.” She fell in love […]

Temporary Hiatus

Well this was bound to happen. Hi all. I know, I magically appear again in January and then post pretty decently then March happens and… everything blows up. ? I just wanted to write a quick post I’ve been meaning to do. I’ll be on a temporary hiatus, it will hopefully just be a week or two because I do have a blog tour coming up. I’m really stressed over a lot of things right now but the newest one is COVID19. I have asthma, diabetes 2 and have been having some probably-not-serious heart issues, the latter of which is probably due to the stress. I’m not sleeping real well right now, I can only blog at work. Yes, we’re still working here in Kansas. It’s kind of ironic seeing this all play out given I’m a temp at KDHE (Kansas Department of Health and Environment) so like, it’s interesting. […]

Sequels In 2020 That I Need To Read Immediately

Sequels In 2020 That I Need To Read Immediately

Hi all. I love a good sequel I’ve discovered. I thought this would be a fun post to do because of how many series I started last year and this year so far. Some of these sequels I have read but nonetheless, I made this list months ago. Here we go with a bookish list of sequels coming out (hopefully) this year. *Graphic to come* ~The Read~ One of these was good. Just one. The other two were…adequate. Please don’t make me get into them. We Unleash The Merciless Storm (We Set The Dark On Fire #2) by Tehlor Kay Mejia Goodreads Summary: In this nail-biting sequel to Tehlor Kay Mejia’s critically acclaimed fantasy novel We Set the Dark on Fire, La Voz operative Carmen is forced to choose between the girl she loves and the success of the rebellion she’s devoted her life to. Perfect for fans of The […]

Monthly TBR: March

Monthly TBR: March

Hi everyone! I love putting together my monthly TBR, I find it inspiring to see how many books I can get through while at work. I’ve been doing super well at audiobooks and not too great at physical/kindle books but it doesn’t stop me from trying. This month is going to be very non-fiction heavy as all my holds came in and I’ve been saving them for this month. And I just really like them a lot. Monthly TBR is a new feature where I discuss what books I plan to read every month. ~Non-Fiction~ It will be a pretty heavy month with these seven ten books but I’m excited. I so wish I had been able to read White Fragility and How To Be An Antiracist sooner because a local book club discussed them, but holds at the library took a while. For good reasons, I’m sure! I loved […]

Looking Forward To: March ‘20

Hi everyone! I always love finding out about new releases so this is one of my favorite posts to do, though a bit time consuming. Looking Forward To is a monthly feature where I showcase all of the books, music, shows, movies and everything else that I am looking forward to for the upcoming month. You can view past months’ posts here. ~All The Books~ March 3rd Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales When We Were Magic by Sarah Galley Every Reason We Shouldn’t by Sara Fujimura Anna K: A Love Story by Jenny Lee Be Not Far From Me by Mindy McGinnis If These Wings Could Fly by Kylie McCauley The Light In Hidden Places by Sharon Cameron The Night of Your Life by Lydia Sharp Salty, Bitter, Sweet […]

Monthly Recap: February ‘20

Monthly Recap: February ‘20

Monthly Recap is a bit of a self-explanatory feature where I recap my life, share blog posts you may have missed, give an overall count of my reading progress and more. To know what books I’ve read, shows I’ve watched and music I’ve listened to, you can check out my Entertainment Recap feature. It has been a huge bookish month for me regarding book sales, book signings, review books, signed books, book carts and recently ordered…book beaus.  It’s all books books books. If you take away all of the bookish stuff, well, I suppose it’s just another regular month. Oh, I did start a new Sunday School class where we meet a coffee shop. I love this because of the obvious…. coffee. It’s been nice so far. Other than that, I missed two panels at the library last Saturday which I am so upset about. I have learned to put […]

Wondrous Covers Wednesday – Couples Edition (#4)

Wondrous Covers Wednesday – Couples Edition (#4)

Welcome to another Wondrous Covers Wednesday post. It is the last Wednesday of February which means I’m sharing another romance-centered theme. Wondrous Covers Wednesday is a weekly feature where I usually choose to showcase at least three covers with similar attributes and themes. This series will be branching out a little. To see past editions, you can check out my page for them here. This week’s theme is illustrated couples sitting down. I love a lot of these. I love a lot of these! ~My Thoughts~ * The Gravity Of Us, Lucky Caller and I Think I Love You have such sweet couple romancey vibes. The colors in them are lovely as well! And they all feature sunsets which is such a fave of mine. The Gravity Of Us and Lucky Caller are pretty similar but I like how they have their differences. * I love the picnic for A Cuban […]
