Fifteen YA Romances I Want To Read In 2020

Fifteen YA Romances I Want To Read In 2020

I am doing a romance series of posts for the next two weeks because why not? Today I’m talking about thirteen Young Adult romances that sound really intriguing to me. A few of these are repeats from my two Anticipated Book Lists but that was inevitable. ~One~ Every Other Weekend by Abigail Johnson The Reason Why Teens bonding over their family issues. I’m very much into that. ~Two~ Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli & Aisha Saeed The Reason Why First of all, that plot sounds amazing and it’s so well needed given the election year. Secondly, the authors! ~Three~ Together We Caught Fire by Eva V. Gibson The Reason Why I love a story dealing with hard issues. ~Four~ The Gravity Of Us by Phil Stamper The Reason Why Space, first love, I couldn’t ask for more. I’m already reading it today and it’s amazing. ~Five~ If You Only Knew by Prerna Pickett The Reason Why We don’t read about many teens being released from jail. I’m waiting for the secrets to come pouring out. ~Six~ Four Days of You and Me by Miranda Kenneally The Reason Why I’ve never read a Miranda Kenneally book but it is […]

Monthly TBR: February

Monthly TBR: February

Monthly TBR is a new feature where I discuss what books I plan to read every month.   Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a good February and reading good books! It is all about catching up on backlist e-ARCs this month in regards to the audiobooks. Let me share: Overdrive – Mostly Audio The Serpent King, You Know Me Well and Jane Anonymous are for eARCs. Unfortunately, I can no longer think of The Serpent King without thinking of Riverdale so we shall see how the (completely unrelated) book holds up to it. Emma is for my one classic for the month, though I’d love to read more if I’m able… I’ve never read an Austen book. All The Things We Do In The Dark and A Treason Of Thorns are just for fun. Hoopla – Audiobooks Here is where all my old eARCs reading comes in: Ah, yes, some of these are ridiculously old. Don’t Read the Comments is the newest because, you know, it came out last month. I’m most excited to finally get to Can’t Look Away, Ship It, The Chaos of Standing Still and of course, How I Resist. Audible – Audiobooks Audible has this […]

What’s New In YA: January

What’s New In YA: January

Hi everyone! I have been wanting to do this new monthly feature for a super long time. What’s New In YA is a feature I’ll do every month with the latest book deals, cover reveals, media news, author interviews, book-related articles and everything else I think of. The months can be so hectic so I thought it would be nice to have it all in one nice little place! I don’t include absolutely everything because I’m more of a Contemporary reader but we’ll see! All The Book Deals From Publisher’s Weekly Okay, so these aren’t actually all of the books, though it is a lot. 😂 I shared the ones I’m excited to read. Kristen Pettit at HarperTeen has acquired Sarena (l.) and Sasha Nanua‘s YA fantasy duology in a two-book deal. The first book, Ria & Rani, follows two twins separated at birth—one now a princess, the other a street thief—who switch places, only to discover that their destinies may be to join together in a bid to stop their kingdom from falling apart. Publication is scheduled for summer 2021; Peter Knapp at Park & Fine Literary and Media brokered the deal for world English rights. – Trisha de […]

Looking Forward To: February ‘20

Looking Forward To: February ‘20

Looking Forward To is a monthly feature where I showcase all of the books, music, shows, movies and everything else that I am looking forward to for the upcoming month. You can view past months’ posts here. ~All The Blogging~ * I’m looking forward to launching a few new features this month and continuing ones I started last month. * I’m ‘celebrating’ Valentine’s Day with a romance movie every day from the 1st to the 14th. it’s partly because I need an excuse to watch movies since I rarely do and because if I  watch new movies, I have a(nother) reason to launch a feature. I’ll be sharing the lineup on here later and I’ll post it on Twitter, for those interested. The tag will be #FourteenMoviesOfRomance * I’m going to getting things together for Poetic Justice. I’ve hosted it the past two years in April during National Poetry Month. I’m not sure if I’ll do the full month or not, it depends on interest but we’ll see what I come up with. ~All The Books~ The 4th: The 11th: The 18th: The 25th: Reading: Foul Is Fair Most Excited For: Yes No Maybe So, Together We Caught Fire, Break […]

Monthly Recap: January ‘20

Monthly Recap: January ‘20

Monthly Recap is a bit of a self-explanatory feature where I recap my life, share blog posts you may have missed, give an overall count of my reading progress and more. It’s been forever since I’ve done a monthly recap. Literally two years ago. How am I supposed to know what’s happened the past two years if I don’t write it down!? Not much changes in my life however, ha, so this will be mostly blog related. As for my life, well, I saw L. L. McKinney, Megan Bannen and Sarah Henning at Barnes and Noble! It was super unexpected and exciting and I so would have missed it had Elle not tweeted about it. As well as Megan and Sarah who I hadn’t previously followed on Twitter. Other than that though, I am one month closer to going to ALA in Chicago and I could not be more excited for that as well. It’s coming. I’m still burning through audiobooks at work as always. I’ve given up my musicals and show-listens to listen to all the books I can. I’m tentatively trying to hit 150 books but my Goodreads goal is 100. Let’s just say I’m already 1/5 of […]

32 Of My Favorite Covers of 2019

32 Of My Favorite Covers of 2019

Hi all. I wanted to share some covers of gorgeous looking book covers from 2019. I wanted to get this post up before the end of the month a lot sooner than now. I’ve been a bit burnt out though so here it is. I would love to know your thoughts! First Set Why yes, I did organize these by position. Looking to the right is apparently ‘in’. Dealing In Dreams looks like a dream. I love seeing so many Black and POC models on these covers. Especially a fat POC with There’s Something About Sweetie (which is an amazing book if you didn’t already know. I just really love the pinkness of The Grace Year, You Must Not Miss, The Dead Queens Club and If I’m Being Honest a lot. The fonts on Last Girl Lied To, All The Bad Apples and How To Make Friends With The Dark is lovely. I like the academic vibe that You Asked For Perfect gives me, especially with the pencil there. You can read my reviews for Full Disclosure, The Revolution of Birdie Randolph and On The Come Up right here. Covers with multiple people: I really love the colors in Ziggy, […]

58 Adult Fiction Books I Can’t Wait To Read

58 Adult Fiction Books I Can’t Wait To Read

Hey everyone. I am really enjoying making these bookish lists. I want to branch out my reading this year. After reading some more popular Adult fiction books last year, I want to delve deeper into that and I think 2020 might be the year for it. There’s a nice mix of thrillers and rom-coms and books about family and friends. I’m excited to discover some new favorites. I’ll make another list for releases after June but I had to include a couple already because they sound so good. January: Three Hours by Rosamund Lupton (9th from Viking) Followers by Megan Angelo (14th from Graydon House) Little Gods by Meng Jin (14th from Custom House) All The Ways We Said Goodbye by Beatriz Williams,  Lauren Willig, and Karen White (14th from William Morrow) The Better Liar by Tanen Jones (14th from Ballantine) Dreamland by Nancy Bilyeau (16th from Endeavour Quill) Recipe For A Perfect Wife by Karma Brown (21st from Dutton) The 24-Hour Cafe by Libby Page (23rd from Orion) Show Them A Good Time by Nicole Flattery (28th from Bloomsbury) (Short Stories) February: The Girl With The Louding Voice by Abi Dare (4th from Dutton Books) The Authenticity Project by […]

My Bookish Survey For 2019

My Bookish Survey For 2019

Hey all, this bookish survey is finally being posted way later than I wanted. It was initially going to be one of my first posts of the year and it kind of just went ot the backburner. It has been forever since I did this, around five years. I’m kind of ridiculous, ha. I was thinking of it as a quiz and I hate quizzes but I finished it pretty quickly. I read so many books last year, it was kind of ridiculous. Especially given how many repeats there are. What can I say? I like what I like. I think I may have read more books in 2019 than all the books during the rest of my blogging years. Thank you, audiobooks. Thank you to Jame @ The Perpetual Page Turner for creating it! *I’m not going to add covers for all of these if ,there’s repeated books **2019 READING STATS** Number Of Books You Read: 139 Number of Re-Reads: 8 Genre You Read The Most From: Contemporary 1. Best Book You Read In 2019? Far From You was so amazing and it will be on this list a few times. It’s a thriller and it tackles different topics and […]

When Authors Unexpectedly Come To Town

When Authors Unexpectedly Come To Town

It turns out that 2020 is going to be a very nice year with author meetings. I was able to meet L. L. McKinney, Megan Bannen and Sarah Henning. The latter two thought I looked familiar but we think it was nothing. 😂 I read The Bird and The Blade last month and Throw Like A  Girl was one of my anticipated releases for this month so that was fun. There I was, last Saturday on the way to the library to do some much needed blogging and suddenly, I see a tweet: Gonna be at the Barnes & Noble in Topeka today at 2 pm with @MeganBannen and @shhenning! Come through! — LL McKinney (@ElleOnWords) January 18, 2020 You already know what I did… First I double-checked the tweet because, wait, really? Topeka? I had to make sure I wasn’t mistaken, surely there was some other Topeka, right? After double-checking I discovered that they were in fact coming and I actually read the tweet in time to find out. There was nothing on the Barnes and Noble website or in my subscribed emails about it which makes me really sad. I feel like there would have been a better […]

You Look Familiar. . . Couples Edition #1 (Wondrous Covers Wednesday)

You Look Familiar. . . Couples Edition #1 (Wondrous Covers Wednesday)

Welcome back to another lovely Wondrous Covers Wednesday. I’m kind of so excited for this post and I know, that’s so unlike me, but really. Wait until you see these covers I’m sharing today! I am sharing FIVE covers again today and unlike last week, these are all so uncanningly similar. I LOVE doing these little similar cover posts, I’ve done a few before. I was looking at covers I’ve saved and I had to do a double take when I saw Reconnected and The Upside of Falling. As I’ve been gathering illustrated covers a lot for my series, I thought I’d look back over what I found and to my surprise, those weren’t the only two. If these were only illustrated covers I saw, I would wonder if people were running out of ideas, but no. I’ve seen a lot of covers, don’t fear. I found these all so amusing though. There’s also a fun poll at the bottom because I don’t do enough polls and this post demanded one. Wondrous Covers Wednesday is a weekly feature where I usually choose to showcase at least three covers with similar attributes and themes. This series will be branching out a […]
