Hi all. As the years go on, I start to like the idea of the new year more and more. There is so much potential there. Here are some of my goals that I’m making for the year.

~Blogging Goals~
Write 50 posts this year
I say this every year but I really do want to start blogging more. Even if it’s a simple “Looking Forward To” or “Monthly Recap” post. I want to feel like I’m a part of the blogging community again.
Get New Blog Graphics
I really want to try to update my blog this year along with my profile pictures for Twitter and Instagram.
Go To ALA Annual Conference
I still ache when I think of how I was supposed to go in 2018 and 2019 before COVID happened. I am already making plans to go this year though with my mom. Let me know if you’re going!
~Social Media Goals~
Make 50 Instagram posts and 50 TikTok videos
I want to be more interactive on Instagram and TikTok again. I always have ideas but never much time, energy or space. I want to work on this.
~Reading Goals~
*Read more physical books
. I am super spoiled by audiobooks but I miss actually reading. So far this year I’ve read two and a half books. My Goodreads goal is 100 books and this includes audiobooks. My physical reading book goal is 50 books.
*Carrying a book wherever I go
I want to carry a physical book with me so I can knock out some of my TBR. Plus it’s way easier on my eyes than reading from my phone.
*Taking notes on the majority of my books
This will help me remember what I read and write reviews.
*Use Goodreads less, use Storygraph more
The irony is not lost on me! I have been using Storygraph more this year to update my reading journals on there. Goodreads is good for seeing shelved books and new releases. Here’s my Storygraph if you would like to be friends on there!
*Use Audible less, us Libro and library even more
I have already started this goal in the past couple months and I want to keep it up. This is mostly thanks to my local library’s amazing digital selection and Libro.FM. I have had a Libro.FM membership for months now and I am in love with it. I support my local indie bookstore, Round Table Bookstore with my purchases which are always aplenty. Libro is my new addiction because they always have books on sale. I can always find something to purchase.
*Utilize Novel Companion and The Bookstagram Planner
I purchased the Always Fully Booked planner last year from Little Inklings and then I only ended up using it for a couple weeks. I wrote all my bookish information on post-its I’ve still yet to sort. This year I thought I would get the novel companion which is a more manageable size of the (sold out) Always Fully Booked Planner. I picked up the Bookstagrammer Planner from Emily Cromwell Designs to help with all my bookish content I’ll hopefully make this year. I really want to try to use these planners this year. Don’t ask me how January went. We’re not talking about January. *Wink* *Nudge* *Sob*
~Writing Goals~
Write
I would like to begin writing more whether that’s blog posts, poems, journaling or stories. Writing used to be a huge outlet for me when I was in school and since then, it kind of fell by the wayside.
~Personal Life Goals~
Get in better health
My main goal here is to get my diabetes (type 2) under control. Ever since COVID happened, I kind of just gave up on it. While I feel like I “feel” okay, I know that’s probably not true. It’s such a struggle to take care of that with everything else in life going on.
What are you goals for the new year? How do you decide what you want to focus on? How do you hold yourself accountable.
