Monthly TBR: January ‘20

Posted January 9, 2020 by Amber in Monthly TBR / 438 Comments

I decided that while I like updating my Twitter with my audiobook schedule, I would also like an official blog post for them every month.

Monthly TBR is a new feature where I discuss what books I plan to read every month.

I’m going to make this fun and break it into where I’m getting each book from and what form they’re in! It’s a goal of mine this year to read at least one physical book every month since I do most of my reading via audiobooks. I do miss actually reading though and some of the books I have…*gasp*…aren’t available to me in audio format. Plus some were gifts and I figured it would be good to actually read those too. I promise I’m not a wizard or witch (are they already the same thing?), I just have a ton of audiobook listening time.

Overdrive – Mostly Audio

Heart of Iron (#1) by Ashley Poston

Turtles All The Way Down by John Green

The Bird and The Blade by Megan Bannen

The Beautiful (#1) by Renee Ahdieh

Sawkill Girls by CLaire Legrand

The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White

Furyborn (#1) by Claire Legrand

A Heart In A Body In The World by Deb Calleti

All of these except My Heart In A Body In The World are audiobooks.

I’ve already finished The Bird and The Blade! It had me in all my feels and I’m both sad I waited so long to read it and just sad. I’ve been meaning to read one of Claire’s books for forever. Or at least since Some Kind of Happiness comes out. Spoiler: I still haven’t gotten to that one either.

Sick Kids In Love by Hannah Moskowitz

I Wish You All The Best by Mason Deaver

Tiny Pretty Things (Tiny Pretty Things #1) by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton

Shiny Broken Pieces (Tiny Pretty Things #2) by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton

Tease by Amanda Maciel

Anatomy of A Misfit by Andrea Portes

Cherry by Lindsey Rosin

The Fall of The Butterflies by Andrea Portes

All Eyes On Us by Kit Frick

All-American Muslim Girl by Nadine Jolie Courntey

We Set The Dark On Fire (#1) by Tehlor Kay Mejia

Little Wrecks by Meredith Miller

I am forever in love with Hoopla. I’ve listened to Sick Kids In Love, I Wish You All The Best, Tiny Pretty Things and Shiny Broken Pieces! They’re all so good and I will hopefully have reviews up for them this month.

I’m most excited to listen to We Set The Dark on Fire. Cherry, Tease and Anatomy Of A Misfit are three books I meant to read forever ago. I’m listening to them partly as WIP research and partly because this is the easiest way to read them.

We Used To Be Friends by Amy Spalding

Foul Is Fair by Hannah Capin

I’m clearly super excited to read We Used To Be given it was in my Looking Forward To post and my past Top Ten Tuesday list. I have an e-ARC I’m sure it’s going to kill me.

I started Foul Is Fair but I want to re-read what I read before since I didn’t get super far into it. Let me tell you now though, it is dark as hell already and one of my most anticipated titles. I’m all about the revenge.

How To Make A Wish by Ashley Herring Blake

Our Year of Maybe by Rachel Lynn Solomon

Ripple by Heather Smith Meloche

It’s a crime that I haven’t read any of these amazing looking titles yet. I was a big fan of Suffer Love and Girl Made Of Stars by Ashley so I’m not sure how or why I never read How To Make A Wish. I’ll remedy that. Speaking of wishes (dandelion), I started Our Year of Maybe when it first came out and never finished. It was painfully relatable so that is probably why. I am going to finally read Ripple! At least, that’s the plan!

Fault Line by C. Desir

Bleed Like Me by C. Desir

I have been meaning to read these two books by Christa for a while. I have them on my Kindle and even thought of buying them to listen to on Audible. However, Overdrive and Hoopla has me super busy with that, so I figured I’d try…reading them. Such a shock but they’re not too long. I’m so excited.

There you have it, my overly ambitious, indulgent TBR for the month! What are you reading? Are there any books you think I, perhaps, should NOT read?  Let me know.
