Waiting On Wednesday (#4)

I have two selections this week as usual. Both of them are just books I’ve recently discovered will be coming out.

Why I Can’t Wait:

I’ve never completed a whole Ellen Hopkins book, though I’ve wanted to, so this could be a first. I love how Ellen Hopkins writes about real teen issues in a way that doesn’t look down on their problems. I like the poetry free verse style that she uses a lot. I’m interested in seeing how Hopkins writes Matthew’s character and if there will be a positive or negative view of Christianity since I am a Christian. I’m also excited to read this because it sounds like Matthew will be going through a journey due to the accident.

Why I Can’t Wait:

As with Ellen Hopkins, I’ve never read a book by Amy Reed, although I’ve read parts of Crazy. She’s been on my TBR list of authors I need to read books by. when I heard about Damaged coming out I was so excited. I’m in a roadtrip kind of mood, so Damaged sounds fantastic to me. I like that it’s also part ghost story along with what seems to be some eventual romance. I’m excited to see Hunter’s journey through alcoholism as well as Kinsey dealing with Camille’s death.

If you can’t tell by now, I really like Young Adult novels where the characters end up going through hard times, how it affects them and whether or not things get better for them. I have a little while to go before Hopkins release though, unfortunately. I am really really excited to read these two books as soon as possible.
