Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#39)

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#39)

I. Love. Covers. Henceforth I had to make a cover feature, of course. Wondrous Covers Wednesday  is a  weekly feature I created which showcases three book covers that I love that share themes or common attributes.   Good afternoon everyone! Music’s always been a big part of my life since middle school. It’s definitely got me through some hard times and been there for happy times as well. For today’s Wondrous Covers Wednesday, I wanted to pick covers where headphones held the spotlight. ~One~ In Real Life by Jessica Love (Publishes March 1st from St. Martins) ~My Thoughts~ Okay, things I love about this cover: 1. The white font and how it has speckles in the title! I like that little touch. 2. The background color! I like how it’s a muted color. 3. THE HEART BECAUSE WHO DOESN’T LIKE A HEART MADE OUT OF HEADPHONE CORDS EVERY ONCE IN A […]

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#38)

Wondrous Covers Wednesday  is a  weekly feature I created which showcases three book covers that I love that share themes or common attributes. It’s no lie that I love the sky (generally) and covers with the majority of the sky are among my favorites. All three of the covers below use different colors of the sky to get across the mood. ~One~ All We Have Is Now by Lisa Schroeder ~My Thoughts~ The colors in this are so pretty, They just give me a sense of hope for the characters despite them having an asteroid set to crash into earth. I love sunset colors. The stars in the background are such a nice touch. I love the silhouette, it’s very simple. I like the bridge.  ~Two~ We Are The Ants by Shaun Hutchinson ~My Thoughts~ Like All We Have Is Now, We Are The Ants features a simple silhouette at the bottom, which […]

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#37)

Wondrous Covers Wednesday is a weekly feature where I share my cover love by showing off three covers with common themes or attributes. Hey everyone! So I have no idea what happened last week but I just did not get around to posting WCW last week. I think I wasn’t feeling well and slept the majority of the day, so… 🙂 For today’s WCW I’m showing three covers that have similar colors featured in them, some more than others though. ~One~ Paperweight by Meg Haston ~My Thoughts~ I love the simplicity of this cover. It seems so airy with the outstretched hand and the clouds and birds above it. It gets across the literal “Paperweight” so easily. The background designs are really my favorite though. Like I said, I love how lightweight they look. I really like the fonts too and the color choices. ~Two~ A Step Toward Falling by […]

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#36)

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#36)

Wondrous Covers Wednesday is a weekly feature where I showcase three covers sharing similar aspects or themes. Hi everyone! I hope your day is going well. Mine is going, well, less than fantastic, I’ll say that. However, it’s Wednesday which means it’s time to show off some awesome covers. For this week’s theme, I chose to focus on darker covers with people and the colors, black and red as the focus. Why? Because they look dark and I like dark right now.  ~One~ Scarlett Undercover by Jennifer Latham ~My Thoughts~ I’m currently reading Scarlett Undercover and I think the cover for it is fantastic. I love the darkness of it, the red, the PoC character. The font gives the book a fast paced feel. The girl looks like a good representation of the character in the book and she looks street smart. ~Two~ The Murder Complex (#1) by Lindsay Cummings […]

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#35)

Wondrous Covers Wednesday is a  weekly feature I created to showcase generally three book covers that I love that share common themes or attributes. Good afternoon everyone! I decided I would showcase three covers that have a mostly black background and ornate details on the covers!  ~One~ Hold Me Like A Breath (Once Upon A Crime Family #1) by Tiffany Schmidt (Published May 19th) ~My Thoughts~ This has to be one of my favorite covers of the year. I love how vivid the butterfly and  how the wings like shatter apart when they hit the gate. I discovered this from Sarah! That just adds a lot of poetic sadness to the image. It also shows the darkness in this “Crime Family”.  I also really love the gate in the background and how it’s detailed, but small, in diameter. 🙂 I love the title and the font, using white was a really smart choice and […]

All The Summer-y Covers (WCW #34)

All The Summer-y Covers (WCW #34)

If this is your first time here, I’m doing Wondrous Covers Wednesday which is a weekly feature where I showcase covers and talk about them a little. Usually the covers will have a theme of sorts or shared aspects. So today’s been pretty crappy so far. I’m hoping there will be Life Group tonight so I can escape for a little bit. Anyway, due to my less than satisfying day, I thought I’d try to brighten it up a little with summery covers. These covers just give me the feeling of summer and I love that. ~One~ Finding Paris by Joy Preble ~My Thoughts~ This definitely gets the road trip aspect across really well. I love the map going around on top of the image. I love the cursive font. ~Two~ Joyride by Anna Banks (Publishes June 2nd) ~My Thoughts~ This cover is really cute. I love the title and font. […]

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#33)

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#33)

Is it bad to say I love this feature? Because I love this feature. Everytime I do it, I’m like “This is my favorite post ever” (that I’ve written) and then I do one the week later and I’m like “THIS is my favorite post ever”. So with that said, I’m pretty sure this IS my favorite post. If you have no idea what Wondrous Covers Wednesday (WCW) is (or if you’re new here, first of all, hi! Please come back!), it is a feature that lets me show my cover love every WEEK it’s continuous. Basically what I do for WCW is showcase three covers and then give my thoughts on them, BUT, they all have themes or common attributes! Fun, yes? I thought so! This week’s theme is PAPER. As a former writer and reader, I love paper so much. I love it even more when paper is […]

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#32) – City Lights

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#32) – City Lights

Wondrous Covers Wednesday is a weekly feature where I showcase three covers following a certain theme. You can view past posts for this here. This week’s covers are all going to revolve around a few things. 1. City Life 2. Streets 3. Night time I adore all of these covers and I was so happy to discover the final one to complete the “trilogy” for this theme which I call City Lights. 🙂 ~One~ Tonight The Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales (Publishes September  15th, ’15) ~My Thoughts~ I am dying for this book. Quite literally. Oh my goodness, if the summary weren’t enough to get me hooked, the cover definitely is. First of all, I adore the title. I have a thing for long titles. 🙂 I really like the font and how swirly the letters are cursive. I adore all of the colors used in this. The colors […]

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#31)

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#31)

This is Welcome wondrous Wednesday, a weekly feature where I showcase covers fitting a certain theme or aspect. This week my theme is stars. It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that I love stars and the universe and basically everything involving night. Minus storms, I don’t like storms. For this week’s post I wanted to showcase three amazing covers that all feature stars in them. All three of them are breathtakingly gorgeous. ~One~ Written In The Stars by Aisha Saeed ~My Thoughts~ True story, when I first discovered this cover, I almost died. Okay, so I exaggerate, a little. Nonetheless, this cover is completely gorgeous. I love the sky, the framing, the colors, the simplicity. I really love how the frame is two different colors, it brings the cover together nicely. The deep purple tones are so gorgeous. The girl seems to be looking for guidance that’s “written in the […]

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#29)

Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#29)

Hi everyone. It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for Wondrous Covers Wednesday. Every week I choose three covers to showcase that will generally follow a theme. For this week I wanted to use covers that sort of pop. The theme of this week are Word Bubbles. ~One~ The Fault In Our Stars by John Green ~My Thoughts~ The Fault In Our Stars did this first and I think that’s what drew a lot of people to the book cover. It wasn’t a commonly done thing, as far as I know. What I really love about this cover is that it’s mostly one color and it’s not too busy in the background. ~Two~ Ask Again Later by Liz Czukas ~My Thoughts~ This is another cover that is mostly only one color. I like the font of the text and how you can’t really see the girl in the bottom.  ~Three~ Simon VS. […]
