I meant to have this post up days ago but you know how life goes. This month has been absolutely chaotic AND amazing. Mostly amazing. Mostly because I co-hosted this lovely event which I love so much! October is not even over yet but it’s coming so fast! The past two weeks have flown by, I say that all the time, but it seriously feels like everything came so quickly.
Taylor (the fantastic host), Shannon, Mari (the amazing fellow co-hosts) and I have been working on this since August. August seems so long ago even though it was barely a month and a half ago. I’ve made some big changes since then! Some directly involved with co-hosting this event so they were unexpected surprises! It gives me another reason to love Shattering Stigmas. I started therapy, I did some re-connecting, I had great people on my blog, I was able to read so many fantastic posts and help fight against the mental health stigma. What is better than that?
I always love the chance to reach out and help with mental-health related things. Doing Shattering Stigmas was such an honor. I had a small but lovely group of posts and people. I wish I had more and could have posted more but I’m so thankful for what I had.
Thank you to all of the participants! Nia, Kimberly, Mia, Rebecca, Sierra, thank you all so much! And thank you to all of the other participants across the co-hosts blogs. I said it before, but we could not be doing this without you! You are the reason we’re able to. I’m sure we could all write posts for two weeks about mental health, but that may get repetitive and just a bit mentally draining! So thank you for not putting us through that.
To recap the past two weeks:
* October 6th – I did a short introduction.
* October 8th – Nia discussed mental health advocacy in India
* October 9th – Kimberly talked about her mental health journey.
* October 11th – Mia shared their experience with PTSD
* October 13th– Rebecca gave us a personal look at her experience with Anorexia
*October 16th – Sierra talked about grief, depression and courage.
*October 19th – I posted on Shannon’s blog on the aftermath of mistakes, why and how I let Twitter see my messy side and getting help
